At the drive side the screw conveyor is pivoted in maintenance free bearings. The material feed is obtained symmetrical to this pivot point. At the outlet side a high precision tension load cell measures the gross weightof the screw conveyor. The inlet and the outlet of the conveyor must be fully compensated. The product column should not be supported on the inlet conveyor. An encoder picks up the rpm of the screw - this is related to the transport speed of the product under the following conditions.

The screw conveyor may only be filled up to 30 percent.
The volume of the conveyor (length and diameter) must be in a certain relation to the tare weight. At low feed rates or product density a longer conveyor is required.
